Job Scope:

Reporting to the Deputy Director (International Relations), the Deputy Manager/Manager is responsible for following portfolios:

  1. Global Partnerships
  • Work with the Deputy Director to jointly strategise and implement IR’s strategy in the assigned region.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with overseas universities and institutions in the assigned region, with the objectives of exploring potential collaborations with them in areas such as student exchanges, research collaborations and faculty exchanges.
  • Coordinate the formalization of such relationships through the signing of Memoranda of Understanding and Implementation Agreements.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement various outbound collaborative activities between SUTD and our partner universities in the assigned region including but not limited to student exchanges and research attachments.
  • Plan and coordinate visits of partner universities or overseas universities from the assigned region to SUTD.
  • Assist with the implementation of SUTD’s IR strategy for the assigned region.
  • Assist with the reporting on SUTD’s deliverables and milestones as well as updating of IR’s records and database.
  • Plan and coordinate SUTD’s participation in international education conference(s) in the assigned region.
  • Where necessary, staff trips by SUTD management to the assigned region.
  1. Global Programmes (Outbound)
  • Plan, coordinate and implement assigned outbound global programmes, including the possibility of launching new outbound programmes in the Office of International Relations.
  • Implement and operationalize special programmes such as the Temasek Foundation International Leadership Enrichment and Regional Networking (LEaRN) Programme.
  • Administer relevant scholarships and awards associated with the outbound programmes or special programmes and the follow-up with students on the award’s deliverables and report submission.
  • Administer student application and selection process.
  • Follow up on student appeals and feedback, with the intent to continuously improve on the processes and selection.
  • Administer all exchange scholarships, including the award and the follow-up with students on the award’s deliverables and report submission.

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Prior relevant experience in managing student mobility programmes or International Relations.
  • Degree or MSc in engineering, management or a related field in a well-established university.
  • Proficient in both English and Chinese languages (both spoken and written).
  • Good proficiency in MS Office applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Independent and excellent team player
  • Self-driven, meticulous and organized with a strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a strong interest to interact with a wide variety of people
