Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and develop digital and/or hands-on workshops, and in doing so, promote the creative process through project-based learning (which may not be limited to the deployment of FabLab Mobile), with a focus on student interaction and group collaboration
  • Provide technical and administrative support in handling related aspects of setting-up, operation, maintenance & implementation of equipment for the operation of SUTD FabLab Mobile during its deployment for admissions outreach
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations (e.g. EHS) and maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment and work area
  • Maintain proper documentation, identify and measure key critical indicators, and provide regular reports as required by the stakeholders
  • Provide training, consultation and mentoring to student helpers or technical ambassadors involved in the outreach workshops
  • Coordinate outreach requests, plan and organise learning journeys, including leading campus tours and coordinating the relevant booking of facilities, equipment and/or resources. This includes, but may not be limited to those involving the FabLab Mobile.
  • Support general admissions outreach activities, including showcasing SUTD projects and capabilities and handling enquiries at school/education fairs on campus and externally
  • Support admissions selection and conversion process during the admissions cycle.
  • Preferably be able to support marketing initiatives to promote the University among the youth target audience, including coming up with contents for social media platforms.   


  • Have received a Diploma / Bachelor degree in Engineering or Design
  • Have at least 2 years of experience managing and running workshops
  • Digital savvy, preferably with experience in application development, robotic devices, artificial intelligence or related fields etc.
  • Possess relevant experience with a broad range of digital fabrication equipment and systems, e.g. electronics (Arduino Products and development), 3D printers, laser and DIY craftworks; experience with CAD software, such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor; as well as familiarity with hand and powered tools
  • Be able to work independently and in a team environment, and to take ownership of; and autonomously carry forward major aspects of assigned projects and tasks
  • Be resourceful, proactive, results-oriented with a positive attitude, and keen to integrate in and support a lively growing university makers’ system
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
