  • To assist in the establishment, implementation and maintenance of the University’s Environmental, Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS);
  • Be a part of the University’s EHS working committee (Deputy Secretary);
  • Be a part of the University’s Company Emergency Response Team (CERT – Deputy Site Incident Controller);
  • Be a part of the University’s Safety Management Officers Team (SMO);
  • Establish relevant safe work procedures for the EHSMS;
  • Conduct EHS training for employees and students;
  • Discuss EHS issues with employees and students via meetings;
  • Conduct investigations for all incidents in the University;
  • Keep abreast with all updates in EHS legal requirements;
  • Conduct EHS promotional activities in the University (e.g. quarterly newsletter, EHS week);
  • Manage all EHS issues (e.g. Permit-to-Work) of contractors working in the University;
  • Carry out periodic inspection and correct any unsafe / undesirable work practices and conditions in the University;
  • Monitor all statutory equipment, machineries, equipment and tools used in the University;
  • Appointed as a risk management leader and conduct risk assessment for activities in the University with the respective RM/RA members;
  • Develop relevant occupational health programmes, which shall include noise conservation, respiratory protection, and industrial hygiene programmes;
  • Establish written response plan and to familiarise employees and students with the response procedures in the event of an emergency;
  • To generate and maintain all records and documents from the EHSMS;
  • Any other responsibility, as assigned by the University/Supervisor.


• Degree in Engineering;
• At least 5 years working experience;
• Familiar with the chemical laboratory / machining workshop environment;
• Registered workplace safety and health officer (WSHO);
• Familiar with the EHS legal requirements in Singapore;
• Registered Fire Safety Manager (SCDF) and/or Biosafety Coordinator (MOH) would be advantageous;
• Effective communication and writing skills.
