Position Description

 

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate expertise in the areas of building science and technology, with emphasis in architectural tectonics, sustainable materials and methods of construction, application of innovative digital design technologies for assessment of building performance and a vision the future of architectural building design and production.

 

Candidates are expected to teach undergraduate courses in architectural tectonics, design for manufacturing and assembly, including selection of building materials, pre-fabricated and on-site methods of construction, as well as technical documentation of architectural design for construction. In addition, candidates will propose and develop an elective offered to both undergraduate and graduate students stemming from their research work as means of creating a conduit between advanced research and architectural education.

 

Candidates will be expected to conduct research and/or produce creative work within a research-intensive university setting, seek for research funding from relevant government and industry sources and contribute to building science and technology via academic publishing in international journals and conference proceedings and/or relevant demonstrative work.

 

Minimum qualifications

  • An accredited graduate degree in Architecture (such as M.Arch)
  • Previous academic teaching and/or professional experience (with examples)
  • Demonstration of research and/or creative work

 

Preferred qualifications

  • PhD in architecture with focus on building science and technology or significant architectural practice experience on relevant areas
  • Academic or professional publications of research or applied work in building science and technology
  • Awards for teaching and/or design
