Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for collation and updating of IT assets (Servers, Endpoints and Software) information from the respective Pillars/Cluster/Research Centres and maintain the inventory list.
- Working with asset owners/users over the lifecycle of their IT assets. This includes discovery, identification, reviewing and support.
- Required to manage systems used in the University. Familiar with administrating Microsoft OS, Linux OS (CentOS, Ubuntu, Redhat, etc), databases (SQL, mySQL etc),
- Experience with VMWare, SSO/MFA (Okta), Backup system, Netapp, Anti-Virus, Microsoft 365 will be an added advantage.
- A strong knowledge on Microsoft Active Directory Architecture, PowerShell and Group Policies.
- Required to perform patching, systems hardening, systems onboarding/decommissioning, BYOD enrolment/policies and other systems activities.
- Compliance with the IT Security Policy and other IT policies
- Develop and manage project tender specifications documents, call tenders, conduct tender evaluations and prepare award recommendation, manage and monitor project scope, project schedule and quality of deliverables.
- Conduct vendor negotiations and contracts/agreements administration, evaluate and recommend appropriate IT solutions/services to meet users' requirements.
- Rotational on-call duty along with team members and after office hours support.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant working experience in design, configuration and management of Windows and Linux Infrastructure.
- Strong technical competencies and analytical mind, with specialized certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, CDCP, CCNA, ITIL, etc. would be preferred.
- Good working knowledge of IT governance, systems, security and system technologies and able to work with cross-functional departments.
- Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills.
