Job Description

The job holder will be responsible to provide secretariat support to the SUTD Institutional Review Board (SUTD-IRB). This role involves managing the review and approval process for human biomedical and social, behavioural, and educational research at SUTD.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary reviews of research studies submitted to SUTD-IRB, ensuring they comply with Singapore’s regulations and in accordance with SUTD’s policies and guidelines.
  • Serve as a resource person for faculty, researchers, study personnel, and administrators on ethics-related matters.
  • Provide administrative support for research compliance and ethics review processes.
  • Maintain IRB study-related documentation in accordance with data security and protection policies.
  • Prepare and submit reports to relevant authorities and management, as required.
  • Ensure timely responses and deliverables aligned with the expectations of stakeholders involved in the ethics review process.

  • Perform any other ad-hoc job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university. Preferred fields include Science, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, or related disciplines. 
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in research conduct involving ethical approval, administration related to research ethics, research compliance, or regulatory affairs.
  • Meticulous, resourceful, work well under pressure, fast and keen learner.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing
    cross-functional relationships and multitasking.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality, fairness, tact, and discretion, and exercise mature judgment, as the role involves handling sensitive and confidential information on a regular basis.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications.
