SUTD is hiring non-tenure track faculty in multiple academic fields and levels of experience to support its mission of revolutionising research and education for Design and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The goal is to make connections between AI and design thinking methodologies as well as to apply AI-driven design across products, systems, services, and the built environment, by encompassing technology, human and business. Candidates are expected to have demonstrated ability too conduct outstanding research and education, as well as activities that research beyond academia for external engagement and impact.

 

Job Requirements

 

The Design and Artificial Intelligence (DAI) programme invites applications to fill several non-tenure track faculty positions. Appointments will be jointly affiliated with one of the academic pillars/clusters in SUTD. Highly qualified applicants with a substantial track record of research accomplishments, an active research program, and strong teaching experience may be considered for full appointment as tenured full professor.

 

The candidate (s) should possess a strong creative foundation with a passion for pushing the limits across engineering, computing, architecture and the design disciplines, ranging from computational applications, systems and tools; to design innovation, human-machine interfaces, human-computer interfaces, user experience and user interface design, advanced manufacturing and prototyping for design, methods, in product and service development and innovation, machine-system design, and design teaching and learning methods. Applications of the candidate’s (s’) research and practice preferably should align to the strategic growth areas of the University, including healthcare, cities, aviation, or artificial intelligence, and other areas of importance to communities, regions, cities and nations.

 

Candidates should possess a PhD in an engineering, computer science or design related fields, with demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; in service to the university, profession, and community; and in developing and maintaining an active and funded research programme. Exceptional candidates all areas will be considered, but priority will be given to those in the following areas:

  • Spatial Design with AI
