Faculty Member - Practice-Track Position in Business and AI (DAI)

The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) invites applications for a Practice-Track Faculty Position in Business and AI, jointly aligned with SUTD's Supercharged DAI initiative and the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) cluster.
We seek an experienced practitioner, industry leader, investor, entrepreneur, or practitioner-scholar who can bring strong business expertise, professional networks, and demonstrated real-world impact into SUTD's interdisciplinary and design-centric learning environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will contribute to business education within SUTD's Supercharged DAI curriculum and broader HASS offerings. The role emphasizes practice-informed teaching, industry engagement, and the development of applied learning opportunities that connect business, AI, technology, design, and society. The position is intended for candidates with substantial experience in areas such as business transformation, organizational innovation, and technology adoption entrepreneurship, venture investment/building, consulting, or executive leadership. The successful candidate will help students understand how organizations, entrepreneurs, and/or investors can respond strategically, responsibly, and innovatively to the opportunities and challenges created by AI.
Areas of expertise may include:
- AI-enabled business transformation and strategy
- Digital transformation and organizational innovation
- Leadership, change management, and technology adoption
- Business analytics and data-informed decision-making
- Business model innovation, entrepreneurship
- Venture capital, startup financing, and investment decision-making
- Responsible business, corporate governance, and AI governance
Industry-linked projects, studios, and executive education and experience working across sectors such as financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, logistics, consulting, technology, venture capital, or the public sector would be an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and teach business-related courses and electives.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary teaching at the intersection of business, AI, technology, design, and society.
- Develop applied learning opportunities, for example, through projects, industry collaborations, internships, studios, case studies, and practitioner engagement.
- Build partnerships with industry, startups, public-sector, and innovation ecosystem partners.
- Mentor students and contribute to curriculum development, programme development and university service.
- Support executive education and lifelong learning initiatives where relevant. Contribute to SUTD’s broader industry engagement and thought leadership in business and AI.
Qualifications
Applicants should normally possess:
- Substantial industry, entrepreneurial, consulting, public-sector, or professional experience.
- Evidence of teaching ability or strong potential to translate professional expertise into engaging student learning.
- Active connections to relevant professional, industry, investment, entrepreneurial or innovation networks.
- Strong communication, collaborative, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
Experience leading AI-enabled business transformation, organizational innovation, digital strategy, technology commercialization, entrepreneurship, venture investment/building, executive leadership, or consulting will be advantageous.

- Two examples of teaching materials, teaching evaluations, executive education materials, or other evidence of teaching effectiveness, if available.
- Two examples of applied outputs or professional impact, such as publications, cases, consulting projects, venture initiatives, policy contributions, public writing, or industry projects.
