- Teaching and pedagogy
- Agile software engineering
- Software design and architecture

- Design thinking
Depending on the candidate’s prior teaching experience, the appointment may be at the level of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. Candidates with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and at least 10 years of teaching experience in Computer Science will also be considered. The initial appointment is for up to three years and is renewable, subject to satisfactory performance.
Teaching at SUTD is both challenging and deeply rewarding. Faculty on the teaching track play a central role in shaping the next generation of computing professionals, with a primary focus on delivering and managing undergraduate courses. The teaching load is higher than that of tenure-track faculty, but so is the opportunity to make a direct and lasting impact on students’ learning and growth. In addition to teaching, faculties contribute through service to SUTD and the broader community. Performance is evaluated with an emphasis on teaching excellence, giving dedicated educators the chance to be recognised and advanced for the quality of their teaching. Successful candidates should therefore have a passion for teaching and a strong desire to nurture the next generation of Computer Science graduates.
Qualified applicants will be invited for an on-site interview which will include a short micro-teaching segment to demonstrate their teaching abilities and passion for education. For applicants based overseas who are unable to attend in person, interviews may be conducted online. In such cases, candidates may also be asked to submit a recorded microteaching segment with specific requirements communicated separately.
SUTD is a design-focused university offering five majors or “pillars” with a relatively small annual undergraduate intake. Our undergraduate education emphasises a cohort-based active learning pedagogy, where faculty engage students through interactive lessons in classes of around fifty. Project-based and interdisciplinary learning are core features of the curriculum, providing students with hands-on experience and broad exposure across domains. Beyond teaching, SUTD is also home to world-class centres of excellence in multi-disciplinary research, including the iTrust Centre for Research in Cyber Security, the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC), and the AI Mega Centre.
Successful candidates can look forward to internationally competitive remuneration, and relocation support for those moving to Singapore. If you share SUTD’s vision on multi-disciplinary education and research with a strong emphasis on “Design” in the broadest sense, we invite you to apply.
