Job Description
We have a Research Assistant position in the area of software engineering and computer science education research. The Research Assistant will be required to engage in the design, development, testing, and integration of tools that provide automated feedback and scoring for programming submissions. The development of these technologies requires a skill-set that includes experience in Python and JavaScript programming, familiarity with the Linux/Unix OS, and associated compilation/build tools. Experience with web frameworks, API development, chatbot development, and Large Language Models is advantageous. The Research Assistant will also support research user studies to test the tools for usability and its efficacy for learning. The Research Assistant will have the opportunity to participate in writing research publications about their work.
Graduates with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, who are well-equipped with the skill-set described below are encouraged to apply. The work environment is friendly and intellectually stimulating. No work experience is required for this position, though prior experience in software development will be an advantage. Diploma holders with a minimum of two years of experience with programming projects using Python and JavaScript are welcome.
