Job Description

We are seeking applicants for a full-time postdoctoral research fellow position in 2D material device simulations (ONLY theory and simulation). The successful candidate will apply density functional theory to study 2D materials, heterostructures and their device applications. The successful candidate will investigate the electronic properties of 2D materials and their heterostructures, specifically focusing on semiconductor devices (field-effect transistor, magnetic tunnelling junction) and unconventional brain-like device applications. The position will also involve collaboration with experimentalists.


Essential job requirements

  • PhD in computational/theoretical Physics, Material Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in density functional theory of 2D materials and heterostructures.
  • Good understanding on electronics, spintronics, valleytronics and multiferroic device physics.
  • Strong publication record (e.g. first author publications in Web of Science Q1 journals).

Additional requirements (optional)

  • Machine learning technique for material research
  • High throughput computational search and screening of 2D materials
  • Some prior background in TCAD and semiconductor device design process.
