Purpose

 

The prestigious SUTD Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship (SUTD-PPF) is a talent development scheme which aims to attract excellent recent PhD graduate Singaporeans to pursue a career in academia with SUTD through postdoctoral training in internationally renowned research Universities.

 

Alongside sponsoring the postdoctoral fellow for overseas research training, SUTD develops the awardee through mentorship and continual engagement.

 

The fellowship will provide monthly stipend and allowances during the postdoctoral appointment in the Host University, and envisages future employment in SUTD. The SUTD–PPF is tenable for a period of up to 2 years.

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

  • Singapore Citizen
  • Singapore Permanent Resident may apply, but would have obtained Singapore Citizenship by the time of receiving the award
  • has completed PhD in the last 3 years
  • has shown continual activities in research and teaching in the last 3 years
  • is applying / has accepted a 1-year or 2-year postdoctoral position at a leading overseas University or Research Institution

The application process will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and we would advise that you have the following information ready to facilitate your application:

  • Original PhD and Master's degree (if any), transcript and certificate in soft copies
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score report
  • Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) score report
  • Relevant supporting documents such as pre-prints of publications or conference proceedings (if any)
  • Soft copy of postdoctoral appointment letter issued by overseas University or Research Institution (if any)
  • Soft copy of your Identity Card or relevant pages in your Passport
  • Research Statement of Objectives in soft copy

Please submit your online application early to facilitate processing and upload the requested documents listed above under the section "Other Documents". Short-listed applicants may be interviewed face-to-face, via Zoom or over the telephone.
