Senior Research Assistant
The Bio-inspired Robotics and Design Laboratory at SUTD (https://brd.sutd.edu.sg) is seeking to hire a Research Assistant and a Senior Research Assistant to support projects in soft grasping.
The Roles:
The Research Assistant and Senior Research Assistant will contribute to both fundamental and applied research in dexterous manipulation and grasping. They will be involved in developing advanced control systems for novel soft and hybrid mechanisms, aimed at next-generation applications in diverse environments, from harsh to delicate.
We are looking for innovative and passionate researchers eager to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Integrate sensors.
- Develop high-level robot control systems.
- Implement advanced low-level control and soft sensor feedback mechanisms.
- Support the design and prototyping of mechanisms for various grasping applications.
- Design and conduct manipulation and grasping experiments in both laboratory and real-world settings.
- Assist with publications and grant writing.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related fields.
- Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Experience in sensor integration and embedded system design.
- Familiarity with soft robotics and additive manufacturing processes is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with the use of LLMs for intuitive robot control is a plus, but not a required.
